Lady’s Gone, Puppy Is Sad (a Sonnet for my sweetie)

Sad, broken puppy

Lady’s gone, puppy is sad,
cat’s just ‘que sera’,
Hubby is busy, no time for that
’til night begins to fall.
House feels empty, silent dinner,
“So glad the pets are here.”
Bedtime is not the same without her,
“Gosh, I’m missing you, dear.”
One day, two days, sometimes three,
Lady’s trips are not very long;
Hubby gets lonely, poor puppy grieves,
But the cat stays ‘que sera.’
Food and water is all it takes and the cat is all content,
But, Hubby and puppy can’t wait to see precious, sweet Lady again.
